“Avoid,” is my general message. The Zune is a square wheel, a product that’s so absurd and so obviously immune to success that it evokes something akin to a sense of pity.
Is anyone surprised that the Zune is sucking even more than anyone dared to hope? Let this this serve as a shiny reminder that the end user is the single most important part of any product design. While you’re laughing at the astounding failure of the Zune, be sure to save a few chuckles for Vista. I suspect that it will suck just as bad or worse.
