Texas attorney general moves to shut down makers of gas pill

Texas attorney general moves to shut down makers of gas pill - MarketWatch

Looks like BioPerformance is going down. I particularly like the paragraph warning that exposure to the pill may result in anemia or liver disfunction. The highways are toxic enough without burning napthalene crap and exposing millions of people to it’s fumes.

The Texas Attorney General filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the makers of a “gas pill,” which the state says is a worthless mothball that’s part of an illegal pyramid scheme, preying on consumers frustrated by high gasoline prices.

I’ve posted previously about the Gas Pill here.

  1. Tom Says:

Attorney General Abbot stated “this pill does absolutely nothing to improve gas mileage.” Guess what, there are over 25,000 people who have actually used the product and disagree with the Attorney General, who has never used the product. Allegedly, sever PHD chemists have tested it in their labs and stated that it doesn’t work.

How do these chemists get to work each day? Do any of you drive your vehicles in a laboratory? Why haven’t they said that they tested it in their vehicle or one of their test vehicles on the road, and that it didn’t work? The reason is, because it does work. Yes, there is a scam involved here!! It is the scam created by the Attorney General and some select news media sations. We all know how the media just loves to look for any hot topic and exploit the facts for their own benefit and sensdationalizing.

  2. Anton Says:

I think it’s safe to say now that the pills are Napthalene. I’ve read reports of two different universities finding this to be true.

If you’re still want to believe that BioPerformance is telling the truth, then consider their claim that the pills are non-toxic and check out the health effects:

In humans, exposure to large amounts of naphthalene may damage or destroy red blood cells. This could cause the body to have too few red blood cells until it replaces the destroyed cells. Humans, particularly children, have developed this condition after ingesting mothballs or deodorant blocks containing naphthalene. Some of the symptoms of this condition are fatigue, lack of appetite, restlessness, and pale skin. Exposure to large amounts of naphthalene may also cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, blood in the urine, and a yellow color of the skin.

It might not kill you, but it certainly isn’t non-toxic.

As for your claim that the pills improve gas milage: How can you be certain that the placebo effect didn’t cause these people drive a little slower?

  3. Tom Says:

    Anton,

Only one way for you to know for yourself and quit guessing and speculating, and that is to try them and see. Cmon. now…..25,000 people with a placebo effect….get real!!

You are just like the media…focusing on a less than a tenth of 1% factor witht this mothball issue. You are making a mountain out of a mothball.

  4. Anton Says:

    Tom,

Where are these 25,000 people? Is that number provided by the same people that told you the pill was non-toxic? How can you trust a company who claims that their goal is to produce a thousand millionaires? Shouldn’t their goal be to save people money on their fuel bills? Imagine if someone opened a new electronic store in your neighborhood and advertised: “We’re here to get rich, buy our stuff!”. Can you trust a company that’s founded by an ex-preacher and washed out marketing dork? Why didn’t their site have any contact information? If their product works, why aren’t they backing it up with some solid proof and presenting that proof to the media?

I could go on for an hour with questions about the company but I’ll stop there.

I’m convinced that the pills are nothing more than Naphthalene. If you’re truely interested in what this does and how it affects gasoline then spend some time on google. Here’s a good link to get you started:
    Naphthalene in Gasoline

Mothballs in the gas tank aren’t a new thing. Stock car drivers used them long ago before octane boosters were easy to come by. Modern fuels and the availability of 94 octane gas at many stations pretty much obsoletes the need for octane boosters.

I still stand by my statement in the other post: Experiment with the higher octane fuels at the station. Depending on your engine and driving habits you may see improved gas milage simply by switching to a better gas. However if your car isn’t designed to burn the high octane fuel it won’t make a difference. The 10 cent increase in price per gallon falls right in line with the $1/10 gallons cost of the pill.

Some “free” ways to save gas, use your crusie control, slow down a little, and shut off the engine if you’re idling more than a minute. These tips alone can save you 10% or more. Get a a tune-up and you could save 20% or more on top of that.

    Thanks Charlie,

I was going to dig up a couple links this afternoon and you beat me to it.

I think it’s best just to drop the argument at this point. I seriously doubt that Tom will believe the scientific tests. He had his heart set on being one of those 1,000 millionaires and is just pissed that his “fortune” is running away from him.

When your dreams crumble it’s much easier to cry conspiracy than admit you were conned.

  7. Anthony Sloan Says:

    Hello everyone
I would like to start out by saying Bio-Scam did me in as well and to all those out there I am truly sorry your dreams have come to a screeching halt. For those still holding on to a thread of hope that BioPerformance does not contain toxins. Simply visit http://www.BioPerformancePro.com

  8. Callie Says:

I have to say that this is a fued from people who know it works and fat cats who want to stop it. I have in posession 2 accounts of lab ISO9000 lab testing which Bio performance is ISO9000 certified and also another lab test conducted. I also have in possesion a MSD sheet for those of you who do not know what that is it is a material saftey data sheet. This is something that EVERY product has to have before going on the market according to OSHA. This is to show you how to deal with the chemical if a spill happens or if it is toxic or you get it on your skin. OSHA has approved the finding in this so called magic pill to be non harm full. I have the proof. You can email me at charger_gal@yahoo.com for your own copy.

  9. doc fog Says:

As a consultant to the MLM or network marketing industry - I realize this industry has always been attacked by regulators under the guise of consumer protection. But in modern times the regulators are attacking our civil rights as home business operators in their regulation of our industry - and if we, (you and I) do not step up and write congressmen & congresswomen to demand our civil rights be protected, they will continue to steal our rights under the guise of protecting us. In May I read in Network Marketing Business Journal an article written by Jonathan W. Emord, who is in my humble opinion the premier freedom of speech Attorney in America. He said, “So the next time you think the law protects you against your government, think again.” He also says, “We have got to change this awful violation of First Amendment free speech and Fifth Amendment due process of law.” Then he rights, “The FTC is not simply a threat to civil rights in America; it is a daily violator of those rights and it gets away with those violations.” In my humble opinion I extend those strong words to include all regulators who have a hidden agenda.

What is a hidden agenda? It is an agenda that includes the Lobby and contributions of BIG BUSINESS! When we research the contributions and lobby of any regulator we can find what influences his views and actions. When we realize that media attention is what any regulator enjoys for the attention and the ratings and we realize that most companies involved in the business model of MLM or Networking is paying those advertising dollars to the good ole’ Salt of the Earth American people… Home Business Operators… we realize why the media and regulators give us negative attention every time they get a chance. They have called the biggest and best MLM & Networking Companies illegal pyramid schemes… always have and always will… unless we stand up as free citizens and demand our rights as home business operators.

It then comes as no surprise that the company in Dallas, Texas that has found the scientific discovery of this decade is under attack from the Texas Attorney General. Let me ask you as a reader some questions and let you form your own view of this attack.

First many companies out there have used the same business model as their business model or compensation plan, and the premier Attorney in MLM is lead council and has reviewed the compensation plan and has some 17 arguments as to why it is not an illegal pyramid scheme, so then why pick this company as the one to attack?

Second many companies have sold toxic products. Now the secret gas pill in my belief is not toxic and later I will tell why I hold that belief, but for now lets assume it is toxic. If it is toxic, it’s not made to eat, it’s made to put in fuel, which will kill you if you consume it… so what’s the deal? I mean why go in and freeze accounts, seize assets, and then even go as far as to freeze the owners’ personal accounts and assets? I mean some very high dollar pharmaceutical companies sold drugs that were proved to kill hundreds of Americans and they never stopped them from doing business with freezing accounts and seizing assets. Why freeze network marketing companies and not other big businesses? I have an opinion and here it is. We, home business operators don’t lobby and we don’t pay campaign contributions… so we and our companies are treated differently. Does this sound like a civil right violation by the regulators?

Let me add some creditability to my last paragraph… just some food for thought. I did a little Googleing on the Texas Attorney General and I found that Oil and Gas companies contributed money to his campaign coffers; in fact they were #2. Attorneys were #1, so I then looked at the Attorney’s who contributed and found many of them had Oil and Gas companies as clients! Add it all up and I think Oil and Gas had a major influence in the Texas Attorney Generals opinions. And by his freezing all monies a good defense would be hard to mount… that is unless monies were already in escrow with the Attorney’s that would mount the defense. I hope that the Dallas Company took advice from their consultant, and I have all belief they did.

Third… What about all the claims of gas savings and lowered emissions? Well it seems they have not just hundreds of sworn testimonies, but thousands of sworn testimonies! But that ain’t science, excuse the English! When did science become law? Well it seems now according to the law, we no longer have a right to speak freely. That sounds like violation of freedom of speech, right? Wrong… not when what you say is an advertisement. So let me understand this… you can tell your neighbor about a good movie or a great place to eat….but if you can make money on word of mouth advertising you violate the law! The law says we must have science… help me here - why? They say it’s so they can protect the innocent consumer! My opinion is it’s so they can regulate business. If they can regulate you… big business can control you… so that its no longer small home based business and then they can force us out of business by regulation! And why require science? So Big Business can regulate Laboratories and Universities and then Big Business can buy up all the new ideas and then choose which ones they want to affect their commerce. It’s not because science adds to consumer protection. If science added to consumer protection the drug companies that have invented and sold the drugs that kill us would have been stopped!

Science is just a way to regulate! I mean, science says a bumble bee can’t fly, right? Science said we came from monkeys and that the big bang created the universe and each year new science overturns old science… it is ever changing and therefore can’t protect us because we can’t depend on it.

    ______________________________________________________________________
    Additional Commentary on Science

Why does a country want to make science law? For Christians the answer is easy! To make science law makes biblical beliefs unlawful! My Dad said it best in one of his quotes. He said, “Son a wise man is always an educated man, but a well educated man is not always a wise man.” I’m told this next story actually happened. A Professor in debating creation vs. evolution asked the question of students, “Do you believe God created everything?” A student replied quickly with a affirmative, Yes! The Professor then said, “If God created everything, then God created evil and by God’s own principal of our works defining us, then God is evil!” The student was stunned and sat back down. Another student raised their hand and asked the

Professor, “Does darkness exist?” The Professor replied, “Of course darkness exist!” The student then replied, “Sir, with respect you are wrong! Darkness is the absence of light. Newton’s prism can break light into many colors of many wavelengths. However one can not measure the wavelength of darkness, so therefore science has determined that dark is the absence of light. So sir, by similar definition if darkness is the absence of light, then evil is the absence of good. Having said this then evil would define the absence of God’s work, meaning God is good and evil is the absence of good.” The Professor could make no scientific argument against the student’s statement! Now I’m not attacking science. In fact I invite scientific study and its theories. It’s from those theories good ideas are developed! But science is not math. Math is absolute; science is not and never will be!
    ______________________________________________________________________

I went out of the country to learn of the science of this secret gas pill. I traveled with a man much smarter than I in science, a man with a string of credentials as long as my arm. We traveled to meet the inventor of the secret gas pill! What we found amazed us! We found the invention of the decade! The man was eccentric, but a genius! We asked about this secret gas pill that the lab in Texas and Florida and 4 PhD’s had found was naphthalene or moth balls.

How could 2 labs and 4 PhD’s find this in the product that claims to be non toxic? Here is what I think I heard and I know the man of credential that went with me found it to be the invention of the century. We found science did not accept the fact that 3 live plant enzymes could be made to attach to a dispersant and attack fuel by breaking down the molecule bonds - allowing fuel to burn more completely and with less harmful emissions. Science accepts the fact that naphthalene can be made into napthalate by attaching a metal and it becomes non toxic. Science does not accept that the metal can be replaced by a live enzyme. This man has done just that. He has gotten 3 enzymes to attach to a dispersant. It is pure genius. So how can a product that is mostly enzymes go into 2 labs and come out as toxic naphthalene in their test. He said, “Simple… they destroyed the live enzymes in their test because their test raises the temperature to a level that cooks off and kills the enzymes leaving naphthalene. In other words they changed the product! So I am left to wonder, why would a lab not know their test would do this? I researched the lab in Texas and I found a hidden agenda. The labs client listings include Oil Companies; in fact their primary client base was Oil Companies. So we have the scientific find of the century that the labs and PhD’s (who you would think they would be chasing to find it) are instead trying to cover it up!

Here is my closing opinion and statement! The secret gas pill will not be covered up by big money…the information is out! Thanks to everyone who has helped spread the word…the world now knows! The Dallas Company will fight the good fight, because its owners have the integrity the regulators don’t have!! As for me and my family we will fight the good fight as well! I plan to write congressmen and women. I plan to lobby! I plan to expose the system. After all it is the system that is written about in Revelations…. it is a one world system and a mark of the beast… it is exactly that when regulator’s choose who they will attack and when they disregard civil rights and force science on business and refuse thousands of good witness and have the commercial system feeding their agenda and their pockets. I hope that you all as independent home business operator’s and salt of the earth Americans will rise up to both an Energy Revolution and a American revolution! Stand up fight the good fight! Take pride in knowing you have big money on the run!!!

Now I too, must for my own protection do what I have advised the Dallas Company to do and that is post a disclaimer! Oh Yes, I advised that Dallas Company to tell the world the product didn’t work and they didn’t make any income claims! Why? So they could withstand the very attack that has now come their way! In our society when you must warn people that coffee is hot… even a great product like the secret gas pill must say, “it only works for you if you find it to…we make no claims… try it you’ll like it… we believe it works… we have thousands of good people write and tell us so; but… we make no claims. And the regulators will still try to say you made claims when big money tells them to!

Anyway… this article is an opinion and is a statement of opinion and not science! I feel like a creationist at an evolutionist convention!!!

    Sincerely Yours,

    Doc Fog

Here is some update from I-team that did the investigation. http://www.wesh.com/news/9224995/detail.html What I found interesting from this article is the rebuttal from Bio-performance claiming the gas pill is made from naphthenates and the result of the re-test by Dr Belfield and his team.

    Doc Fog,
May be you can contact I-team to settle this one for all since you seems to have some good findings of your own. Have the inventor engaging them in a debate, pointing out what they may have been missing in their testing, more importantly, showing them how to prove that it is naphthenates instead of napathelene etc…
These chemicals ( napathalene or naphthenates) are well known chemicals. So I would think what ever the gas-pills really made up off can be proven based on the fact of science and hopefully not by some kind “voodoo” engineering…

  11. freddy Says:

There are many points in both sides that are made with out or with lacking logic. Here are a few, each paired with one for the opposing side to be fair.

    1) (For those who say it can’t work) Testing a product on one vehicle only proves it does or does not work on that one vehicle. If Bayer Asprin, or any other drug currently sold was held as useless after failing testing on only one individual, none of them would be on the market as every Physician will tell you a specific drug may not have the desired effect on every individual.
As similar as internal combustion engines are, there is still variation that can affect performance and the ability of a chosen additive to be successful. Some of these differences include, in no particular order, current state of tune, the use of a carbureator or fuel injection, condition of the engine, and compression ratio. Just as all humans have variations so do the huge variety of internal combustion engines currently running today. If this weren’t true the fuel metering system could be lifted from any engine of a specific cylinder count and displacement and put on any other engine of the same cylinder count and displacement-Not one Automotive expert will say that can be done without modification unless the engines are absolutely identical.

    1) (For those who say it does work) Why is everything on the web site completely devoid of any trace of accountability-not one thing about the product is presented with verifiable company testing. (no garantee that the product actually does anything, no ISO or MSDS testing facilities named, no technicians named, and the phone number on the MSDS is answered only rarely and always by someone who does not know anything about having done testing of anything of anything on a MSDS in either english or spanish)?

    2) (For those who say it can’t work) 20,000+ of your neighbors, friends, family members, and strangers have given sworn and legally binding testimonies say that it works-are these people liars and perjurers?

    2) (For those who say it does work) Where are the sworn and legally binding testimonies from Lowell Mimms, and Mr. Romero. If they have no posative personal experience with the product to relate under sworn testimony-why did they start selling it.

    3) (For those who say it can’t work) Spend a dollar a pill, buy enough pills to fill your tank 4 times following the directions (usually about $14) and you will KNOW if it is going to save you any money. $14 to know if you can save anything on every tank of gas you EVER buy from this point. How can you say no to becoming your own expert and knowing with 100% certainty if it will work for you for about $14?

    3) (For those who say it does work) The ONLY two garantees in any of Bio performance business are a garantee to replace any part that can be proven to be damaged by the product(no mention of the criteria of how to prove it(or who to prove it to) or to wheteher for damages caused by the resulting failure of the part in question will be covered), and a garantee to get paid for selling the pills or the positions in the company, but, you can’t get paid any thing from the company without having sold and retained at least 2 positions in the company, then you will get paid for the qualifying volume in your downline by the company in addition to your personal volume. All bonuses and “promotions” are based on personal Distrubutorship sales and not personal volume sales. Sounds like you get paid far better for selling distributorships than product.

    4) (For those who say it can’t work) You are accepting the information of those who are influenced by other agendas without enough question-look at recent events. How many days were we mislead by our media and government about what really happend in huricane Katrina? An elected official will ring the bell every time an election comes up if given any latitude-and especially when his campaign contributors bend his ear about something that could hurt their business.

    5) (For those who say it does work) Why would the founders of the company hire a media group to handle this problem and not simply retest, relable the products and publish verifiable results and put your business back into making money?

    5) (For those who say it can’t work) Because it will build a media frenzy when it comes out that all the naysayers were wrong!

    6) (For those who say it does work) Why are the only ones who have been asked to act accountable by stating it works the ones that would never be prosecuted for being wrong.

    6) (For those who say it can’t work) Because the company wants to avoid any liability.

    7) (For those who say it does work) Why? Are we not selling a product to provide a solution to a problem?

    7) (For those that say it doesn’t work) “yes”-but the problem is not a solution to the high price of fuel, it is manipulation of people with the promise of money
As it is set up I CAN substitute an actual mothball and get EXACTLY the same verifiable results!

If the point was to market and sell a revolutionary new product that actually saves gas, the company would have:
    1) Proved it actually worked with verifiable testing.
    2) Verified its viability as a saleable product with further testing.
    3) Pattented or secured sole rights of production/distribution of the product.
    4) provided VERIFIABLE ISO and MSDS testing to all of thier “business partners”.
    5) Promoted a test kit to make it easy for people to prove to themselves it works.
    6) Marketed it with the full and accountable endorsement of the owners.
    6) SOLD the hell out of the stuff!

    As a last point.
    If I told you:
    1) I found an air freshener/filter pad that would make your airconditioner between 10 and 30% more effective because it contains enzymes that interact with the aluminum and copper in the cooling coil and the air handler motor coils making them flow heat better.
    2) I have two ISO tests and an MSDS that say a product is non toxic, and does make the airconditioning run more efficiently.
    3) You could join up in exactly the same way BioPerformance let you(same pay to you and all)
    4) You and your opinion are so important to me, I am going to ask you to go out and make a sworn testimony-I’ll provide the instructions-so I can put you and Your testimony right up there with ME -Hell, I’ll even call you out of a crowd in a meeting or conference call! I’ll never say or garantee the stuff works, but you will.
    5) oops, I forgot to add, it will spread a slight odor(some say it smells like money) thorough your car-house.

Would you become my business partner?
There is absolutely no way I won’t be yours…
