Dragostea Din Tei

Dragostea Din Tei

For some reason I’m fascinated by this song. The song is oddly catchy, somewhat easy to sing, even if you don’t understand the words, and it appears many people are using it to make fools of themselves on the internet. I’ve compiled a few of the better (and worse) animations and movies set to Dragostea Din Tei.

The song was originally written and performed by O-Zone, a band from Modova who’s members are: Dan Balan, Radu Sarbu and Arsenie Toderas. The song was covered (illegaly?) by Haiducii, a band from Romania.

If any of the links below fail, I’ve mirrored the flash and movies here. (Please no hot-linking to the files, link to this page, or copy them to your own server. Thanks)

This one from Japan is interesting, and I’m pretty sure it pre-dates Numa Numa by a bit at least. There is at least one more japanese version but it appears to have gone 404? A similar version, backwards.

Numa Numa, the more popular version by Gary, and his Special Edition.

A copy of Gary’s with just strange translations and pictures. Then there is also someone acting like acomplete fool. And a version with not just a white guy, but with a mexican and a random asian guy.

A couple real bands have covered the song. Haiducii’s cover is also quite popular in Europe. This appears to be a cover done in Hebrew.

This list would not be complete without the LegO-Zone.

If you’re interested in buying the song, it’s available on Amazon at this link:
Disco-Zone

I also dug up a couple midi ringtones here and here.

Enjoy!
