Last night, I decided not to watch the all-night long election specials on television with their swingometers, pundits and talking heads. Instead, I went to bed to dream of the possibility of waking up to a different world.

ok, if $400 is a slow day and $700 is a good day, let’s say he averages $500, that’s $182,000/year if he works every day (and it appears he does).

Robert Burck, better known to the thousands of people who see him every day as The Naked Cowboy, might spend a lot of time in his briefs. But Burck’s story is anything but brief.

One recent winter Tuesday was a slow day, according to Burck. He made only $400, compared to the $700 he made the previous Saturday. Although warmer days usually mean more admirers, Burck says rain or shine, he goes to work.

MARIO QUILT– my summer project

I’m sending this to my mom in case she runs out of quilting ideas.

UGH! FINALLY!! my mario quilt is complete. i started working at my aunt’s quilt shop this summer and have been quilting for quite a few years (started when i was 16, i am now 19) and the environment i was in all summer totally rubbed off on me. i NEEDED a huge project to accomplish.

be possible to make a home-made one using a much cheaper sun-shade for a car.

Decent read.
Oddly enough, the Heartland Inn I stayed at in Waterloo, Iowa while home for my
grandmothers funeral had free wifi. I didn’t really have time to use it much, but
it was nice to read some email.

We have cracked the hotel WiFi code and put together a list of the five must stays, if free wireless is a req for your hotel stay. We checked out many of the online “Best Hotels For WiFi” lists, and you know what, many of them were just dead wrong. The reason these lists missed is twofold.

Good reference for mythology.

The collective myths of the Scandinavians (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland). The main sources for Norse mythology, Indo-European in origin, are the Icelandic Eddas. The shaping of Norse mythology itself took place in Germanic Europe, including those elements of the myths which were current in Scandinavia in the millenium before that.

This is why archives are important. They show us that people in the past were just as inconsequential as we are. Mind you, I’m sure the donkey thought it was a significant event.
